Counting down … Grateful

Today is my last day at work before I go on holiday next week. I’m fortunate that I have almost a week to prepare but I know I’ll still cram everything in at the last minute.

This holiday has been a long time coming I said to my wife the other day that it’s been at least a year and a half since we went on holiday. Big the truth is – we’ve never been on a holiday. We’ve had a break here and there of typically a weekend going back to NZ but that’s about it. Even though we had a week off for our wedding we didn’t get a break it was full on from beginning to end.

So here’s to making the most of this opportunity and having a much needed break. #Grateful

Putting in work

I got up early with a clear plan of attack – do everything! 😳

I started editing video with the aim of finding my own voice on social media. Something I could do to share my message and inspire people the quickest way possible.

I like inspirational videos and I like to keep it real. So I combined the two by finding video that inspires me to get active and take action and put my own twist on it.

So I took a speech my Steven Spielberg and put my own twist on it by translating what I think he means into language I use 😀.

I’m happy with it.

Mum

It’s always been about you Dad for me. Sometimes you just vibe better with one parent more than the other. That’s not to say you love one less or more – you do more with people you get on better with.

Since my Dad passed away I’ve been speaking with my Mum most days really just to make sure she knows she’s not alone and that she is loved.

Last night my niece Skyped me from Mum’s new place to give me the grand tour.

Although it’s a new house it looks exactly how I expected it to – with a few new purchases (as expected 😀). It had a good vibe to it that I know my dad would have appreciated but still uniquely my Mum’s style.

Mum is the reason my skin is tough, my beliefs are resolute and I take no shit from anyone. She’s proving to be the soldier that our family has always known.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed

Tonight I found out that Chris Cornell passed away. Apparently 8 hrs ago he was tweeting then all of a sudden he’s gone.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this but do you really need a reminder of how little time you have? How precious our time is? I guess we do because it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind going about our business and planning for tomorrow. But the reality is we may never see tomorrow.

All we have is today so don’t waste it by doing things you hate. Create your legacy.

RIP Chris

Get Some!

Ok so I’ve hopeful mapped out a plan of attack so I can keep all the platforms in operating on up to date.

This is basically day 1 take 1000.

My focus today is just about ‘Getting Some!’ Having a decent attempt at doing all the things I’m really passionate about from blogging and vlogging about sharing a message to working on my #sidehustle to make some today money.

It means staying within my timeframes for the day and making sure I’m efficient with my time.

On that note – I’m out. I got things to do. Make sure you get some today and I don’t mean pies. Get some work done, get your blood pumping and make your heart full.

Deuces.

Looking at schools

Today we went out to have a look at a school for Brooklyn. We really just wanted to see what it was like to attend a school open day.

Brooklyn love it but I gotta say I was a little nervous. Nervous for him and worried about how he would cope. But as soon as we arrived he was curious to see everything and get hands on:

We took a tour through the gym and got some hoops in of course

I’m slowly getting used to the fact that my boy is growing up and it’s a solid reminder that I need to make the most of every moment we share.
