Mum

It’s always been about you Dad for me. Sometimes you just vibe better with one parent more than the other. That’s not to say you love one less or more – you do more with people you get on better with.

Since my Dad passed away I’ve been speaking with my Mum most days really just to make sure she knows she’s not alone and that she is loved.

Last night my niece Skyped me from Mum’s new place to give me the grand tour.

Although it’s a new house it looks exactly how I expected it to – with a few new purchases (as expected 😀). It had a good vibe to it that I know my dad would have appreciated but still uniquely my Mum’s style.

Mum is the reason my skin is tough, my beliefs are resolute and I take no shit from anyone. She’s proving to be the soldier that our family has always known.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed

Tonight I found out that Chris Cornell passed away. Apparently 8 hrs ago he was tweeting then all of a sudden he’s gone.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this but do you really need a reminder of how little time you have? How precious our time is? I guess we do because it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind going about our business and planning for tomorrow. But the reality is we may never see tomorrow.

All we have is today so don’t waste it by doing things you hate. Create your legacy.

RIP Chris

The Inner Beast

We all get knocked down every once in a while and sometimes it feels impossible to get back up again. But as soon as you do, as soon as you find that one thing that motivates you to dig deep and find the strength – it’s the point where you realise you’re stronger than you think.

We all have it within us, we each process this inner beast that allows us to overcome the greatest odds even when we are unsure of ourselves. If you can harness that beast and use it to your advantage and not just in desperation then imagine the things you could achieve.

Get Some!

Ok so I’ve hopeful mapped out a plan of attack so I can keep all the platforms in operating on up to date.

This is basically day 1 take 1000.

My focus today is just about ‘Getting Some!’ Having a decent attempt at doing all the things I’m really passionate about from blogging and vlogging about sharing a message to working on my #sidehustle to make some today money.

It means staying within my timeframes for the day and making sure I’m efficient with my time.

On that note – I’m out. I got things to do. Make sure you get some today and I don’t mean pies. Get some work done, get your blood pumping and make your heart full.

Deuces.

Looking at schools

Today we went out to have a look at a school for Brooklyn. We really just wanted to see what it was like to attend a school open day.

Brooklyn love it but I gotta say I was a little nervous. Nervous for him and worried about how he would cope. But as soon as we arrived he was curious to see everything and get hands on:

We took a tour through the gym and got some hoops in of course

I’m slowly getting used to the fact that my boy is growing up and it’s a solid reminder that I need to make the most of every moment we share.

Don’t Do It

I subscribe to a lot of things Gary Vee preaches. The first thing I ever heard him talk about was not doing things you hate and focus on your strengths.

I’ve always been really good at everything I’ve ever done. That’s not to brag but it is very true. But when I think about it there’s an obvious reason and that’s because I invested my time only into things I was good at. So of course I was going to excel.

People waste their time on things that everyone else is doing even when they know on their heart it’s not something they’re really invested in. But they feel like they need to be the same as everyone maybe due to the fear of doing something different and not succeeding.

To me it makes obvious sense – do what you love and you’ll most likely still face hardship BUT you’ll keep going and ultimately succeed.

By Any Means Necessary

I finally got a neck strap for my Vlogging camera! It’s only taken me a few months to source one and when it arrived today I realised its the wrong type 😢

So I found a workaround by using the key rings off my keychain to attach it

It’s not flash but it works and will allow me to shoot hands free point of view stuff. Can’t wait to try it out tomorrow.

#TeamNoSleep

Something that cracks me up is the constant use of hashtags people associate with doing more.

The other night I had a crap sleep and woke up feeling umm crappy. I’d done a really long day and had a bad dream that kept me awake most of the night.

There was no way I was gonna train and it led me to make some poor choices ie; buying an apple slice to add to my lunch

because I felt hungry due to being tired. Then it got me thinking is being on #TeamNoSleep really a good thing?

I didn’t train, my eating was poor, my mood was up and down and then o needed to take a nap when I got home from work. Shit.

So I wouldn’t recommend subscribing to #TeamNoSleep because you end up on #TeamPoorChoices and #TeamNoProduction

Last Day

It’s the last day of the Esster Weekend and I’m losing daylight. But the plan is to get a lot of things done today – no exceptions. Let’s start with a TABATA session …
